You can control your "Hidden Files and Folders" with A Master Key. Unless you have the access to the Master Key, no one can see your hidden files and folders.
So if a guest comes to your house and if he uses your PC, he can easily see your private files. Big time to worry if he goes through your private data. But Days to worry are gone. We'll tell you how to control your Hidden Files and Folder with a Master Key.
Follow these Steps :
Go to Folder Options in Control Panel.
Click on View Tab.
Check Don't Show Hidden Files and Folders. -> Apply -> OK.
Press (Windows key + R) or open Run and type regedit and press Enter
Now go to the below location
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ->
SOFTWARE ->
Microsoft ->
Windows ->
CurrentVersion ->
Explorer ->
Advanced ->
Folder ->
Hidden ->
SHOWALL.
In SHOWALL, you'll find a key named CheckedValue.
Double Click on CheckedValue.
Enter value O (zero) and click OK.
O (zero) indicates Master key is ON and 1 indicates Master Key is OFF.
Close Registry Editor.
Then Try viewing your Hidden Files and Folders. You'll not succeed if your Checked Value is O (zero).
To view you Hidden Files and Folders again, change the value in CheckedValue to 1.
If the trick isn't working for you, Restart your PC after changing the Checked Value.
